Blargh, so there are reasons that I don’t deal much with color.
Anyway, here’s a cute techni-color Twerpzilla!!! Golly, take a wild guess what one of my favorite subjects to draw is? <3
Yar, not the most impressive image, but tis an Omi done in MangaStudio Ex. With luck, mangastudio will eventually stop kicking my keister and let me wield it with the same expertise that I do Photoshop. *sigh* and it’s such a cool looking program too… c’est la vie.
Yeah, even Omi thought that I’d forgotten about this page. Not that twerpzilla really cares about what happens to Nanashi, or does he? OoOOoooh…. ^.~
Should I mention that Seiki was making noises about wanting to update the comic since I was totally slacking off on the job? He’s such a darling.
*SQUEEE* Wicked Stitchery has one of my Allisons… and has made one the most insanely adorable outfits for him!!! ^___^
Golly!!! That sure was some exciting times at Akon. Naturally I’m now back in Puerto Rico and hard at work again. Blargh! Can’t a girl get any downtime? XD
Right now I’m *still* waiting on my 3D printer to arrive… but in the meantime, I’ll just have’ta keep on modeling and getting my Sweet Dolls site revamped as well as fitted with a spifftastic shopping-cart! Woot!!!
Since everyone was asking for them to be released, I sold some of the 1:6 scale versions of my 1:4 scale doll prototype. Little confusing, but cool. They are popular enough that I’m most definitely keeping the 3D printed ‘Fairy Line’ with Sweet Dolls, and expanding on it. One of the things that’s been keeping me a little tied up is modifying Alice to be available at a comfortable price. She is a hefty little thing, and her price will unfortunately reflect that.
The other thing that’s been keeping me up nights (metaphorically and literally) is making this set of cute ‘shoes’ for both 1:3 scale version, and 1:6 scale version of Alice:
Anyway, here’s a couple of fun photos of my dolls at the convention. ^___^
Turns out that my Alices go to more conventions than I do. Seriously. They do. It’s actually a little embarrassing to admit. XD
Just finished the face-up on the one that’s being shipped up to the frozen north; being from the tropics, imho, most anything up north must be frozen. This girl is seriously adorable. Too bad that she’s on the most abused body that I’ve got on hand, it’s the one that I use as a sewing dummy and accidents happen. Yikes!
One of my friends is going to Dollnorth, so I’m shipping this girl to him to tote around the convention. So, anyone going to that con, keep an eye out for her! ^____^
I’ll admit to giving in to peer pressure on occasion. This is one of the times that it was pretty awesome to give in.
Part of the prototyping process that I go through for Sweet Dolls is printing a half sized version of my 3D model so I can see how the jointing systems work in real-world conditions. It also helps work out any stability problems. If there is a slight issue for a 20cm doll, then that slight issue will turn into a serious issue if the same exact doll is 40cm.
So, I posted some shots of the 20cm doll prototype for the 1:4 scale line. Since it’s intended to be a ‘younger’ figure, I made several pieces between the boy and girl bodies swappable and printed out a gender neutral body for this test. A friend of mine called up at 11pm, and pretty much informed me that there were no ifs ands or buts about it… that this small doll had to be made available for purchase, as a 3D print or resin. Then two more friends asked for the same doll. I relented and made this little cutie available. ^.~
Sweet Dolls is pleased to add the Fairy Line of dolls to their family. ^___^
This little cutie is 20cm tall, and absolutely adorable!
For a comparison of the fairy against other dolls, here’s my darling sitting on a Pukifee. Photo courtesy of PRGerry. XD
Okay, getting nearly finished with the next Black Butler Doll cosplay. At one point I must have gone insane, because I pulled all the wefting off of a wig, and attached it as ‘extensions’ on another to make the wig he’s wearing since I wasn’t too keen on how the original one was turning out. >.<;;;
Basically what’s left is the red jacket, and a few odds and ends… and a face-up of course. ^.~
So, it’s no big secret that I’m heading out to Doll-A-Kon in Texas… but I’m definitely going insane working on cosplays for my boys!!! Woot!!!
Yesterday Omi’s costume was finished up. Now I’m quickly trying to stitch together one for one of my lesser known boys, Theron (a Sweet Dolls Allison). I’ll shut up now and show off the cosplays!
You know, Omi’s costume probably would have been a lot quicker to make if I’d had any patterns for half his stuff before hand. Maybe even, if he wasn’t so oddly shaped that all his clothes need to be tailor made to his special little keister. ¬.¬;;;
Omi (as Ciel from Black Butler):
Theron’s is just started, which will hopefully turn into a spifftastic Grell. ^.~
Naturally Omi wasn’t too keen on another doll being picked up so quickly. XD
Okay, an update was forced on my site. This totally messed up my layout since the ‘theme’ that I’ve been using for the past couple of years wasn’t compatible with newer versions of wordpress. So when the update happened, my site freaked out. I’ll be trying to fix all the problems tonight. -_-;;;
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Okay, so nine times out of ten when a box arrives, Omi tries to claim the contents for himself… every so often, this is met with amusing results. Today I got a package from darling Abbey. Naturally the box was immediately seized by Twerp. ^.~
After removing all contents the box must be further inspected to make sure he isn’t missing any important loot.
He isn’t always impressed with what shows up. While I may like Hello Kitty, Twerpzilla isn’t so keen on the cute feline. Somehow the ‘bling’ in today’s box isn’t too his tastes… Omi was gracious enough to allow me to take the keycap. Eventually Omi decided that the Strawberry Hello Kitty Lollipop was somewhat acceptable. However the HK ring (that says ‘love’) and the keycap were totally out of line with his preferences.
The one thing that he didn’t appreciate was the note. After all, he most certainly isn’t a ‘Miss’ and isn’t named ‘Kiki’. For some reason he didn’t believe me when I tactfully pointed out that perhaps the package wasn’t originally intended for him.
Omi did eventually calm down when I promised to get him some pocky at the upcoming convention. He might not be too happy when he remembers how far away that actually is. Once he was properly distracted, I was finally able to retrieve my mail! ^.~
