Woot! For anyone that’s actually wondered about what my collection of BJDs looks like… here’s a shot of all my boys.

Across the back, from left to right they are:

- Mamoru; head, Parabox Gretel – body, Obitsu 60cm Hybrid boy.
- Erik; head, Dollzone Shengxi – body, Angel of Dream 60cm boy.
- Seiki; head, Dollzone Hirry – body, Dollzone 60cm boy.
- Nanjiro; head, Abio Angel Ling – body, Abio Angel 60cm with Dollzone Hands.
- Kijin (being held by Nanjiro); Dollzone MiniBB Leo.

Front:

- Omi; head, Parabox Gretel – body, modded obitsu.
- Niko; head, Obitsu Default 50cm (plus Unoa kitty-ears) – body, 50cm obitsu with small option chest.

There’s a more or less even distribution of vinyl and resin in my collection. I really don’t find that one material is better or worse than the other, just different. Each has it’s pros and cons, like everything else in life… To me, each one is very special. ^___^

Yar, some friends on one of the forums that I hang out on have claimed I am a face-up factory… not that I do bad face-ups, just that it seems I can crank them out, coupled with the fact that I seem to do an absurd amount of face-ups at any given time. Also just figured out, that if I’m familiar with a specific head, you’d better believe that I can crank that sucker out even faster. Though, I’m a little ashamed to admit that I’ve only done about 30 face-ups this year. -_-;;;

Anyway, here’s a funny little shot of seven Hujoos waiting for their eyelashes to be applied. ^.~

When I get a chance, I’ll scan some more of the doodles I’ve been doing. There’s one cute sketch of Omi and Nanashi. Wah! They are too cute!!! ^___^

When am I going to learn? My boys are NOT gonna behave. Especially NOT for a dinky photo. Sheesh.

So, I had my first class for Comic Scene on monday. . . This is the class that currently terrifies me. Okay, so Graphic Design also is a scary thing to contemplate, but I know that Comic Scene is going to kick my normally underweight keister for a loop or three. This is why sketching in class is very much a bad idea. Blargh.

Here is the sketch that is sitting smack-dab in the middle of my class notes.

In other news, I ordered a new 16gb card for my camera since my 8gb card got lost in the move. The seller I bought from this time on ebay looks loads more legit than the last one I tried to buy from. Guess this goes to show me to take a closer look at feed-back when purchasing. At least I was able to open a paypal dispute to get my money back from the first guy. Anyway, YAY for new card!!! ^__^

Yar… thanks for the positive feed back on the pattern book idea! Woot!

Here’s some photos of a pattern that I’m currently working on. I know that it looks really simple, and that it’s just a lame fitted shirt… but still, this is the FOURTH one of these shirts that I’ve sewn while mucking around with the pattern. Next version will actually have a collar attached to it.

The pattern for that shirt is gonna be in the book. I’m going to do a few variations on it. Strange as it sounds, one of the variations is going to be a ‘body-suit’, like the ones that were popular back in the 90’s? That way his shirt will stay tucked in without any problems! XD

Something thing that dawned on me; not everyone is as insane as I am. I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t mind some extra work in getting a BJD dressed. Other more sane people probable won’t want to mess around with removing heads to get the clothing on. Because of this, most shirt patterns will have to have two versions of the back; one where it opens completely to allow for easy dressing, and a closed version that requires some doll disassembly for the garment to be put on.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what other kinds of things they’d like to see show up in the pattern book? ^___^

After about three years, I’ve finally gone through and tightened all of Omi’s joints. Considering his age, Omi is still a spry little guy. Though, I have to admit that he *really* needed the tightening. While pulling him apart, I also found that the last time I’d put him back together, I’d missed one of the posts in his leg… so, yar, now that problem is fixed.

The other thing that I did was make sure there was at least one proper tension ring on each joint. He’d been missing one in his hips for the longest time, and consequently kept dropping his lower half. With luck, my tiny terror should be feeling loads better now.

…one of these days I have to make a nicer shirt for him. It’s not like I don’t have the patterns for one. The one he’s currently in was originally a mock-up version of a new pattern I was working on. Obviously, it worked, and twerpzilla refuses to give up the shirt.

Totally random. One of my friends suggested that I start compiling my insane patterns into a book. Pretty much, a clothing pattern book specific to 60cm, 55cm, and 50cm obitsus, with complete instructions and full-sized pattern pieces to be clipped out. Anyone else think this is a good idea? Not that it’d be done immediately, since I’m working on other stuff… but still, yay or nay?

Woot! I just ordered some new parts from Parabox for Mamoru. Poor baby has been having problems with his hip. Not sure whether it’s the $8 part, or the $18 part. Anyway, got both parts to make sure that any and all problems are eliminated.

For the record, Mamoru has a pretty old body. So I’m not surprised that ‘complications’ have arisen with him. I’m also not his first owner… and was *very* lucky to get him when I did. As far as Obitsus go, he’s had a pretty hard life; okay, so it’s probably not any easier with Omi around. ^.~

Anyway. Once the parts arrive, I’ll be able to do a quick vid showing how to fix an Obitsu’s hips; afterward, how to SHORTEN a 60cm Obitsu. It won’t be the extreme shortening that I’ve done to Omi, but, it’ll still knock a few centimeters off of Mamoru.

The other fun thing that’s in the plans is vinyl stain removal. ^__^

There is absolutely NO gimmickery in this photo… this is ALL Omi, and a good deal of balancing. So, yeah, no wired, no photoshopping… nothing except twerpzilla proving how great of a pose he can handle. As if the imp never gets the chance to show off.

Keep in mind that this little guy is now *three* years old. For those curious, his b’day was June 6th.

====================

In vaguely unrelated news. Today, August 9th, is Seiki’s third B’day.

Okay, I’m still sorting through stuff at my new place…. there are still boxes upon boxes that need to be ‘explored’, and most likely there is stuff that should be thrown out. As I look into each new box, I always hope that this is the one that has either my SD card, or my medication. *sigh* Ya’d think that those would be things that I would have dropped into an obvious place like my purse. But no, and now I get to play ‘find the meds’. Blargh, I guess this shows me to finish packing at odd hours of the night.

If I bonded well with MSDs, I’d so be adding this one to my collection… but, I’ve done the 1:4 route twice before, and it only ended in my tears, both times. ^__^;;;

One of my friends is selling off one of her boys, a darling little tan Dollsone Megi that goes by the name Sho. He’s pre-loved and a great little snuggler! She’s asking $350, and willing to do free shipping within the cont. USA. Sho comes with wig, eyes, clothes and his original default face-up. I think the only thing he’s missing is shoes? Which is pretty awesome since getting one spiffed out like this in tan resin from the company is $376 before shipping… plus the waiting for it to get made, and then shipped. Save the time, hassle and some moolah with Sho. XD

So, yar… someone needs to go buy this boy from her. Click on the image to get to her site. ^____^

I’m serious, this boy needs to go to a good home. Older Dollzone kids are made of pure love, and I have personally cuddled this darling boy. Woot!
